2023 Artist of Honor
FeretStudios
Izabela Feret is a Polish traditional artist that began her business, FeretStudios, and her illustration career in 2013. She grew up in Illinois, where she went to school for Painting and New Media. Since then she has worked at many conventions and in many individual art shows. She specializes in traditional inkwork and pattern work; with excellent attention to detail and designs. Her inspiration for her style of art comes from her family and rich Polish culture; especially her most recent artworks labeled ‘The Babkas’. After collecting a large series of Matryoshka dolls, she took note of their bright colors and intricate patterns and decided to incorporate them into animals. She has labeled them her ‘Babkas’; like a Babka Doll. She has been having fun with new and different designs ever since then and finds them to be the most relaxing pieces of work she has ever made.
Most recently Izabela has also picked up digital coloring and color theory, using it as a mixed media with all her traditional works. She colors both traditionally and digitally now, finding the right balance with a large color pallette at her disposal. Aside from the artistic side of things, she devotes her energy to video games, storytelling, comics, and being a good bird mom. She currently spends her days fulfilling commission work and traveling to conventions. She has been in the fandom since she started making art and has loved every second of this welcoming and kind community. Being able to express herself through the furry community, meeting people from all walks of life, and creating friendships has been absolutely amazing to her. Her goal, however, is to take on bigger projects, and to eventually move towards telling her own stories with graphic novels. Her hope is to share her journey with others, and to continue drawing for everyone in this fandom. She can’t wait to meet everyone at Indy Fur Con and share some extraordinary FeretStudios fun!
